Matias Diaz

Chilean & Bolivarian Champion.

Matias Diaz was born in Antofagasta, Chile, on October 5th, 1994. He started bodyboarding at the age of 7 with his brothers Nicolas, Max, and Sergio, who showed him the way to the beach in Tocopilla. Waves were not always good, but he stayed motivated until he became one of the best bodyboarders in South America, developing a flawless style. He now lives in Iquique, where most of Chile's best waves are located, and travels quite often to Arica to surf the almighty ‘El Flopos,’ a wave made for bodyboarding. Matias won his hometown international event in 2023, the Iquique Bodyboard Pro.
